The Iliad
Homer
$28
Homer’s epic poem recounting the final year of the decade-long Greek siege of Troy, was born of oral tradition. Its written form, usually dated to the 8th century BC, contains 15,000 lines of dactylic hexameter and over 155,000 words.
The sheer scope of the tale is rendered startlingly visible by the density of our poster: we counted 30 words per square centimeter.
